NEWS: Gamefound Campaign: Caverns Reforged - Dwarven Forge

Hail Mighty Readers and Followers of the Luck Gods Rocks,

Our friends at Dwarven Forge have let us know about their next Gamefound Project.  This is what they've had to say:

"We've got a surprise campaign launching next month! Caverns Reforged will be our next Gamefound project, going live Tuesday, May 19th. This will be a simpler project than normal, more akin to our first Gamefound project, Wildlands Reforged.

While we're not making any new sculpts, we're using this opportunity to produce pieces in paint schemes we never have before, make hard-to-get pieces accessible, and even revive and update sets from our original Caverns Kickstarter in 2014! Let's take a brief look at what you can expect.

First and foremost, we're focusing on the three paint schemes from our Caverns Deep Kickstarter: Standard, Ice, and Underdoom. While every piece in that campaign was made in Standard, the Ice and Underdoom selection was limited.

Over the years we've produced some sets of paint variants that weren't in the campaign, like the Natural Bridge. However, there were still a lot of gaps, and we're going to do all of those now. Cave Cliffs, Passages, every basic building piece will be in all three colors after Caverns Reforged!

Back in 2014, we ran our first Caverns campaign. While most of the pieces we produced then were replaced and improved upon in Caverns Deep, there are some sculpts--like the Narrow Passages and Stalagmites--that we're reviving, magnetized and painted in updated Standard, Ice, and Underdoom!

There are also several pieces from Caverns Deep itself that have been hard to find, buries in Adventure Packs that we couldn't restock. We're making brand new dressing packs so those wonderful setpieces like the Heartshard and Shamanic Circle will be easy to grab and use in your games!

Some of you have asked about the variety of unique miniatures we made during Caverns Deep as well. While we're prioritizing the terrain, we've included some of the miniatures in dressing packs where appropriate, and we'll have stretch goals for unlocking sets for the rest of the miniatures!

Also, if you follow the campaign before we launch, you'll get the Prisoner mini added to your pledge for free!

All the best,

NEWS: TerrainCrate: Battlefields Launches - Mantic Games

Hail Mighty Readers and Followers of the Luck Gods Rocks,

Our friends at Mantic Games have let us know about the brand new phase of their amazing TerrainCrate range.  With a ton on offer and plans to expand their Dungeon Range to happen soon, here's what they had to say:

Mantic Games has announced the next phase of its long‑running TerrainCrate range, beginning with the reveal of TerrainCrate Battlefields: a curated range of wargaming scenery
designed for fast, easy, and great-looking tabletops across any game system.

Perhaps the best example of all these values combined is the new Fantasy Battlefield Pack.
Designed to fill a standard 6x4ft battlefield straight out of the box, this set combines
pre‑assembled plastic terrain, flat‑topped hills, pre-coloured buildings and terrain
templates. No specialist hobby skills are required, making this solution particularly appealing
to both new and veteran players, event organisers and gaming groups looking for a terrain
package suitable across all 28-32mm fantasy games.

Several of these elements are also available separately, including the new single-piece
plastic hills, which Mantic expects to be popular across a very wide range of both scales and
genres. From usage as hills at 28-32mm scale, to strategic plateaus for epic-scale games, and
even islands for naval battles, these detailed new plastic hills are perfect for an incredibly
versatile range of games.

The company has also branched out into its first card buildings for fantasy settings,
following the success of the Halo Universe card terrain sets that debuted within Mantic’s
best-selling Halo Flashpoint range. The new fantasy set contains a chapel, stone cottage,
and three-storey-townhouse. All these buildings are easy-to-assemble, pre-coloured, and fit
once again with the TerrainCrate ethos of high visual impact without relying on any
advanced or time-consuming hobby skills to get them on the table.

TerrainCrate is also known for its range of full-colour, non-slip neoprene gaming mats
available in a range of popular styles and sizes. The range includes Fantasy, Hellscape,
Snowfield and Jungle-themed mats, all of which provide hobbyists or gaming clubs with a
collection of exciting and story-inspiring locations to battle across.

“TerrainCrate has always been about bringing tabletops to life, and as easily as possible for
players,” said Dan Mapleston of Mantic Games. “With everything from 6x4ft neoprene mats
to detailed scatter terrain, and now plastic hills and new buildings, TerrainCrate has become
the one-stop range for any hobbyist wanting to easily level up their gaming table.”
This launch marks the first phase of a broader refresh for TerrainCrate, with new packaging
set to appear at retail as a rolling change from the end of May 2026 onwards. Mantic has
also teased that following on from Battlefields, a similarly revamped TerrainCrate Dungeons
range is also coming later in the year with a strong focus on fantasy role-playing games.

TerrainCrate Battlefields is available to order now via Mantic Games and participating
retailers."

We hope to be reviewing their Hills soon,

All the best,

MINIATURE SCENERY DESIGN: Dark Dungeons - Dark Fantastic Mills

Hail Mighty Readers and Followers of the Math's Dice,

Our friends at Dark Fantastic Mills, who have been really sneaky and teasing tasters of what they've been working on the last few weeks, have revealed it all upon their website for you to order right now.  If you love dungeoneering, are looking for something delightful for you to send your party into and best of all you can piece it together to fit whatever scenario you have planned.  Whilst its not currently available as an STL, it is something that will definitely help make your live play way more fun.

Available now in their webshop you can purchase it either as one giant set or by piece whilst allows you to tailor it to own personal taste and with so many options, you really will be sending that party way into the depths, just make sure they have plenty of health potions or a well rested cleric.  lol.

Ideal for games like Warcry (or as I plan to use it as a way to have fabulous 3d terrain for D&D as well as Warhammer Quest (the original now the new Dark Water), there are so many options that you'll be spoiled for choice.  (I am also planning on designing my own card set for each piece so that each time my players enter a dungeon they're designing it as they go along as far as their torches can reveal.  Its definitely going to be pretty epic.

Finally add to this the other wonderful design pieces from their Necrosia sets as well as their Death Temple Kickstarter and you have one hell of an epic option for everything to happen within.  We can't wait to game.

You can also keep up with them via their podcast available here.

All the best,

ThunderMouser.

KICKSTARTER PROJECT: Necrosian Death Temple - Dark Fantastic Mills

Hail Mighty Readers and Followers of the Math's Dice,

Our friends at Dark Fantastic Mills, have just brought out their latest Kickstarter Project.  Here, for the first time, is their amazing Necrosian Death Temple.

Having already smashed its target, so many people are supporting these beautifully designed STL's that will be available for home printing in January 2026 with their stretch goals will being delivered in a six month window following.

Here is the link to their fabulous You Tube video:

These designs are not only fab to use for background for a Dungeons and Dragons campaign or as scenery for a Call of Cthulu story, but would look amazing for either a Tomb Kings Army or even for a Nurgle invasion.  Finally add to this, that the floor tiles and steps would also work well to use as the basic street set up for a city and you have so many options for your money.  If only I had an FDM printer to make full use of these delightful tiles.

So please support them by clicking the kickstarter linky and remember that it closes on Fri, December 5 2025

All the best,
